Top 5 most likely Transformers Studio Series figures for 2023

Studio Series has always been killing it as one of Hasbro's top performing Transformers toylines, consistently taking insane designs from the live action films (and recently the original G1 film) and turning them into screen accurate toy versions of what we saw on screen! We've gotten a ton of figures that I had been guessing we'd be getting sooner rather than later such as the Autobots and Soundwave from the Bumblebee movie opening scenes, The Fallen (finally), not to mention Blitzwing, Perceptor, and Blaster from the 1986 movie! With Rise of the Beasts hot on the horizon, and 2023 right around the corner, here are the top 5 Studio Series figures I think we're most likely to see next year!

Honorable mentions: 1986 Voyager Ratchet and Core Ironhide

Hasbro essentially told us that these were coming, and I don't doubt it! That's why they're on this list, and also why they're just honorable mentions as they've basically been confirmed already. As great as the voyager 1986 Ironhide looks I am very excited to see it redone in Ratchet's design! Both deserve really great figures that don't involve parts forming. On the core side of things, I haven't been pulled into the core class versions of bigger characters yet, but I'll admit I was impressed with how Hasbro pulled off the Core Ratchet, so bring on a core Ironhide.

5. Bumblebee movie Skywarp
This one would be too easy, and a shocker if it doesn't happen soon! As soon as we got that Bumblebee movie Starscream mold (which is a fantastic figure by the way) I knew we'd be seeing it repainted from here to Timbuktu. Thrust was a very cool repaint/retool to start out with, and that was followed up by the more predictable Thundercracker. Now I think anyone can guess where we're heading next, though I am looking forward to seeing the mold decorated in black and purples.

4. 1986 Core Frenzy
Yes, to me Frenzy is red and Rumble is blue. I grew up with the G1 cartoon and as far as I'm concerned what happened in the G1 cartoon is the principle source for anything around that time period. So Rumble being the blue Core class cassette that we're getting completely lines up with how I know the character, and we're 1000% going to see this repainted into Frenzy in no time! I just wonder if we'll be seeing new versions of Ravage and the others to go along with them?

3. 1986 Snarl and Swoop

Ever since our era of leader class Dinobots kicked off with Grimlock they have produced to be some of the best Transformers figures to look forward to each year, with Slug and Sludge both absolutely rocking it! We're over halfway finished at this point, and I think it is safe to say that whenever we get Snarl and Swoop into the line they will both be mini-masterpieces.

2. Que
For all this talk about the 1986 line and the Bumblebee movie, Bayverse is my first and foremost hopes for the Studio Series line and a biggie that I've been talking about from the very beginning is Que! He was one of the best new characters from Dark of the Moon, and now that we've gotten all three Wreckers and the elusive Dino I think it is high time for the Autobot cast of that third movie to be rounded out with this Einstein-looking inventor! 2022 is closing out with some fantastic Bayverse designs like Sideways, Crosshairs, and The Fallen, and with so few Bayverse designs left to choose from I'm betting 2023 will finally be Que's comeback year!

1. Rise of the Beasts figures

New movie coming out? It is a no brainer then to expect figure representation for it! After Bumblebee steered the movie franchise back in the right direction, I have my fingers and toes crossed that Rise of the Beasts will continue that upward trend along with implementing a ton of awesome action and new robot designs. The Maximals alone have my anticipation through the roof, but based on the haunting looking alt mode of Scourge the Terrorcons will be very intriguing as well. Perhaps PulseCon this year could be our first reveal of some of these designs, but even if we have to wait longer I have no doubt Studio Series will have a big role out for one of the biggest Transformers movies in years.
