Top 5 most wanted Mcfarlane DC Retro Batman 66 figures vol 2
While I do wish that Mcfarline's line of Retro 66 Batman figures based on the Adam West TV show were super articulated and in the same scale as the typical DC Multiverse figures, the figures they've been producing are still lots of fun and it's great to have this expanding line of characters from the classic tv show! At this point we've gotten a lot of all the typical members that are checked off first, with Catwoman, Riddler, and Penguin rounding out the main cast. I'm very compelled to see what Mcfarlane's does next with the line, and I have my next most wanted listed out!
I thought for sure that when we got a Catwoman it would be the Julie Newmar version who portrayed Catwoman for most of the series, and even returned in the animated Return of the Caped Crusaders movie! Eartha Kitt's Catwoman is a very welcome surprise though as I don't see her get quite as much attention from her time in the series! I am holding out for Newmar and Meriwether's versions to be made eventually though, and then we could have all three actresses from one company.
Getting into more of the B-list villains from the series who didn't get as much recognition as the big names like Riddler and Penguin, Egghead was a very fun villain and one whose egg-shaped noggin would be a lot of fun to get from Mcfarlane toys! Being made as an action figure would be even cooler given how Nicolas Cage recently expressed interest in playing a scary version of Egghead in the movies!
Holding over from the previous list, Batgirl is the third Bat-themed hero in the series and one of the few female characters overall. I've mentioned before how much I like the predominantly purple costume, and I'm honestly surprised that we haven't see this figure made in the line quite yet.
Another of those classic B-list villains from Adam West's rogues group is King Tut, who has a very toyetic design that would translate well into an action figure. His Egyptian themed costume would contrast nicely with all the other designs in the line. He would also be a dive into those aforementioned B-list villains, something not many other companies have really done at a mass market scale.
It astounds me that this character wasn't typically included with Joker and the others with the show's recognition, being a popular character from the comics and one whose costume design is extremely fun as well! I love the iceman uniform he is wearing, and I hope that Warner Bros ban on guns affects Mcfarlane giving Freeze his iconic ice gun!
