Top 5 most wanted McFarlane DC Multiverse classic DC movie figures vol 2
Live action material has become more and more of a standard release in the DC Multiverse line of figures from Mcfarlane, and especially from a lot of the classic pre-DCEU films we've been seeing a lot of figure representation. Nolan's Batman and a lot of the Nolan-verse has seen modern day releases, not to mention a lot of the classic Batman films including Keaton's Batman and Arnold's Mr. Freeze, with the most recent classic film release being the upcoming Reeve's Superman! As a big fan of DC's live action offerings I can't wait to see what is coming out in the 2025 year, with these five being my next most wanted releases from classic DC films!
5. Batman (Batman Begins)
The Nolan universe has ended up getting a healthy dosage of figures from Mcfarlane since its initial wave of figures that stands as one of the best BAF waves in the line so far in my opinion. At this point the biggest missing piece from the Nolanverse is Batman's initial suit from Batman Begins which will hopefully see release at some point in the coming year as so much of The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises has been accomplished.
4. Catwoman (Batman Returns)
Jumping back to the real classic Batman films, we've gotten both Batman and Robin and Batman Forever as delightful waves in the line, as well as the 89' Batman in a Batmobile release (with doubts that we will get Nicholson's Joker based on how difficult it is to obtain his likeness rights historically), which leaves Batman Returns as the only film of the original four film series to not be touched upon in the line so far. Catwoman is one of the two big characters in the film due for figure treatment, and especially so as the last live action Catwoman we got (Hathaway's) was available only as a Platinum chase variant for some reason.3. Penguin (Batman Returns)
The other big character from Batman Returns due for figure treatment would be Devito's Penguin which has been requested plenty of times from fans. This horrifying take on the Penguin really put the character into a horror genre, and lends itself to a fantastic figure format with his rounded form, penguin-like hands, and unsettling visage. The opportunity for soft goods is ripe with this one as well if they were to include his larger fur coat.2. General Zod (Superman II)
Aside from the forthcoming Reeve Superman we have not seen any other releases from the classic Superman film series thus far. There's lots of characters I'd love to have from these older movies, but top of the list would certainly be Stamp's General Zod which remained as my favorite iteration of the character until Man of Steel's 2013's take. The next logical step after the Reeve Superman figure would be a villain to oppose him, and I'd love for this Zod to get a proper 7 inch scale articulated figure after his most recent figure release being a 3.75 inch figure in Mattel's line.1. The Flash (1990)
The 90s Flash show was technically a television series; however, the pilot was released like a full length movie preview for the series and so I'm by technicality including it in this wishlist. It also takes the top spot on my list because I really loved this show once I finally got around to watching it and the characters' appearances in the CW Flash series became much more impactful. This Flash has been a request from fans for a while in the DC Multiverse line, and Mattel gave us a pretty good offering near the end of their time with the license but I would love another rendition to go with the 7 inch scale line.
