Top 5 wanted Super7 Toho Ultimates! Godzillas

The big G himself is the focus on this post as I talk about the Godzillas across the franchise that I'd love to see put out by Super7 in the Ultimates! line of figures. We've seen them greatly improve their product in the span of just a few releases, with a lot stemming from the Heisei era, but most recently we branched out for the recent Minus One design which is one of my favorite figures in the line thus far. With plenty of Godzilla designs across the franchise to be pulled from, this here is my top 5 most wanted Godzilla Ultimates! figures from Super7!

Honorable Mention: Return of Godzilla

The Heisei era is where Ultimates has firmly stuck so far and we've gotten a handful of Godzillas from this era of film already between the Vs Biollante design, Burning Godzilla, and the 1200 degree meltdown Godzilla. Most designs from this era seem to be variations on the Biollante Godzilla design; however, the first film in the Heisei era, Return of Godzilla, does feature more of its own singular design for the big lizard and is one I really rarely see any attention towards.

5. Gojira

The classic Godzilla design speaks for itself, but it is landing lower on the list simply because Super7 themselves have stated that it will be a long while before they get to the Showa era in Ultimates as after Heisei they are planning on dipping into the Millenium era. I will sit and wait patiently then for the time when inevitably we will receive the big G in his original incarnation in Ultimates! form.

4. Final Wars

Speaking of the Millenium era (which had a lot of sick Godzilla designs), this is the final Godzilla design we had for a while as Final Wars was meant to be the end of the franchise. A much slimmer, aggressive, battle ready Godzilla was pitted against an onslaught of his greatest foes (predominantly those of the Showa era) and certainly provided for a bombastic Godzilla film to say the least. There are so many design from this film that I'd love to see in figure form (such as Gigan) but there's no Final Wars set up without Godzilla himself.

3. Giant Monsters all out Attack

This film still stands as one of my top Godzilla films of all time. I grew up with it, the soundtrack slaps, the story and characters truly stuck out as well written and impactful, not to mention seeing Godzilla as an outright monster of a monster! He was the villain in this one, there was no other way about it, and for once we saw Ghidorah as the hero. Hiya is offering their take on this guy which will no doubt be great, but especially with the quality of the recent Super7 Minus One Godzilla I'd love to see their take on a larger scale GMK Godzilla to bring my childhood to present day collections.

2. Godzilla 2000

The last Millenium design I'm going to be discussing is yet another that Hiya has coming down the pipeline, and another that I grew up absolutely loving. The thicker neck and fiercer jaw design of this Godzilla really makes him more of an imposing threat to behold, and the purple spikes have always been one of my favorite dorsal spine designs across all Godzilla media. A wave consisting of this guy and Orga, or the same design from vs Megaguirus with Megaguirus himself are two waves I would go all in for in a heartbeat.

1. Shin Godzilla

The Shin Godzilla film really blew me away when I saw it with its complex story about Japan's hypothetical modern day reaction to something like Godzilla, and at the center of the film we had a Godzilla like none other who underwent several stages of transformation, with his fourth "Godzilla" proper form appearing almost demonic. His atomic breath scene still registers as possibly my favorite scene from the franchise as a whole, and especially with the articulation engineered into the Minus One Godzilla's tail I think Super7 would blow away a new collector's release for this design.
