Top 5 most wanted Mattel Jurassic Park Amber Collection figures

A line that has been moving very slowly but seems ready to really take off is Mattel's Amber Collection of Jurassic Park franchise figures! The idea of articulated, highly detailed, in scale dinosaurs to most of my action figure collections is a really cool idea but so far all we've had has been the Dilophosaurus, and several repaints of the Velociraptor mold. Human characters are neat to see but not quite my preference for Jurassic Park figures, though we've had revelations of a Pteranodon coming this year which is awesome, and rumors about a few other new Dinosaurs coming to the line, and I thought I'd come back to this blog and go over my top 5 most wanted Mattel Amber Collection figures!

5. Dimorphodon
Coming in at number 5 is the Dimorphodon, which I honestly didn't think was a real dinosaur the first time I saw it! When it showed up in Jurassic World I thought it was another genetically altered dinosaur for the park; however, this Pteranodon with a T-rex head is a real thing and I think that is awesome! This dino is at the bottom only because it is one of the rumored dinos to be made soon, and I can't wait!

4. Gallimimus
A smaller sized dinosaur that I think would fit into the size class and price point they've been using thus far is the Gallimimus, a spindly, tall dino that is probably most famous for the flocking scene in the first film! Dr Grant and the kids running through a field of this scurrying dinos is one of the stand out scenes of the first movie without a doubt, and the elongated, skinny forms of these dinos would be a lot of fun to have in figure form.

3. Stygimoloch
I remember this one being one of the most memorable dinos when I was growing up so I'm surprised that it took until Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom for it to make a meaningful appearance! It was great to see this ramming dinosaur in full action, busting out of its cell and smashing through peoples' legs! It's smaller size would fit in with the current price point just like the Gallimimus, and I hope that means it is likely to be made soon!

2. Velociraptor (Jurassic Park 3)
We have had no shortage of Velociraptors in the line thus far, with the mold being reused more than four times at this point and with another on the way with the upcoming Jurassic Park 2 Tiger raptor! We've now had representations of the Velociraptors from every film in the franchise except for the third movie, and I'd really love to see this version made into figure form. In most ways they're the same as the other raptors we see in the other movies, except with the addition of quills on the head to make them closer to real world approximations of this dinosaur. I think that'd be really cool to see in a Mattel Raptor figure, plus it'd mean more raptors for them to make.

1. Larger size Dinosaurs

I've mentioned a few times how the line has a certain price point and size class that the Dinosaurs have been held to; however, I'm hoping that soon Mattel decides to push the envelope further and expand into new price points with larger sized dinosaurs! Some of the most iconic dinos are of the larger variety, such as the T-Rex, Triceratops, and some of my personal favorites like the Ankylosaurus and the Spinosaurus! I'd gladly pay deluxe price points for some of these larger Dinosaurs as a truly large action figure, and hopefully Mattel decides to try out some larger figures!
