Most wanted Marvel Legends figures from each MCU phase 3 film
I've looked at the MCU's phases 1 and 2 for inspiration of what Marvel Legends figures I'd like to see made next, so the next logical step is to look into phase 3 which is arguably the strongest phase of films Marvel had in their first 10 years. So many incredilbe films and moments took place over this span of time, with the largest amount of films yet being released, and the culmination of the Infinity Saga taking place! With 11 movies to take a look at, these are the 11 characters I want most across these films from Civil War to Far From Home!
We're finally getting a really good Hawkeye MCU Marvel Legends figures based on his most recent Disney+ appearance, but it would be great as well to get a fantastic Hawkeye figure based on his earlier depictions and designs. Civil War has a great collection of figures that have been put together, but getting another Hawkeye with this design would greatly help round out the earlier team set ups.
With the Multiverse of Madness wave of figures we are finally getting a Wong in the Marvel Legends line, and the two remaining big characters from the first movie to really round out the Doctor Strange cast at this point would be the Ancient One and the film's primary villain: Kaecilius. The Ancient One got another staring role in Endgame, with many fans asking for her for a while, and Kaecilius would make for a great action figure, especially where the headsculpt is concerned.
Supporting characters are really all that are left from the cast of the second Guardians film to be made into plastic form, and both have pretty memorable designs that would make them some of the more interesting MCU figures! Ayesha's striking golden form would look incredible with a gold wash of paint, and Taserface's gruesome, mangled visage is just begging to become one of Marvel Legend's coolest headsculpts!
We've gotten lots of figures based on Spiderman's first MCU solo outing, and even a new rendition of the Vulture which is completely movie accurate! Looking back, there's still a character who hasn't gotten a figure yet and who sorely needs one. The Shocker acted as the film's secondary antagonist, and with powerful gauntlets and an iconic set of black and yellow grid print on his jacket, this character would be very welcome to the MCU shelf of figures! Whether they want to include both headsculpts for both users of the mantle is yet to be soon, but starting off with at least one of the them would be a good start.
We got Korg in a two pack, and surprisingly it wasn't Meek who was packed in alongside him! This duo was hands down one of the best parts of Ragnarok, and we got to see them again in Endgame which was so much fun! Meek's design is so outlandish as well that a figure of him can't be denied, with his pudgy, larvae form being housed within a nimble robotic exoskeleton with blade arms!
This film is one of the few MCU films to get a full wave of movie figures with no comic book figures included, and also to have a second wave in general of figures to celebrate the movie! Black Panther was an incredible success, and really rounded out most of the titular characters in figure form already; multiple designs of some characters in a few cases! The only two truly left to tick off the boxes are Zuri and W'Kabi, both being strong supporting characters in the movie with great Wakandan designs.
The product rollout for Infinity War was massive, with tons of figures and multipacks being released for the momentous event! We got pretty much every character from the movie on both sides of the good and evil spectrum, though one very toyetic design from the movie that is ripe for the figure treatment would be the alien Outriders Thanos' deployed in his forces! These multi-limbed aliens were the primary antagonists in one of the franchise's most iconic battles, necessitating collector's get lots of this design into the toy shelf.
Scott and Hope were both must have figures released for the film's release, with Ghost being released later on which rounded up the main trilogy of figures needed from the movie. The only other character really needing to be done in figure form based on the designs we saw would be Janet van Dyme in her microverse attire which admittedly did look very cool and reminded me of the Wasterlanders.
I thought it was so cool when Captain Marvel had to go up against her squad in the film's climax, and when we got pieces for Minn-Erva alongside the green suited Captain Marvel I was sure that we'd get the other members of the squad somehow. Alas, that didn't come to pass, and I'm still hoping that the other three members of her team can be rounded out in the future.
There's still so many figures that could be made from this movie, but Hasbro is steadily working through these now iconic designs with Thor's final battle appearance finally being released and hopefully Hulk will be next up to be made. I've stated before that the version made of Hulk in Endgame, his time travel look in 2012's Avengers (which is essentially standard Hulk), was the wrong direction to take his figure and that his jumpsuit from the climax of the film is much more necessary for the Endgame display.
Molten Man is a pretty awesome build a figure that we got for Far From Home's release, and another deluxe sized figure that I would love to have for the toy shelf is Hydro-Man! A very abstract design for an action figure, it could essentially be a torso with arms protruding from the ground which matches what we got from the movie. A comic book inspired Hydro Man was released in Far From Home's wave of figures so hopefully an MCU version can be granted to us as well.
