Top 5 most wanted NECA ultimate Gremlins (1984) figures
NECA has roped me in hook line and sinker when it comes to their new line of Gremlins figures based on the first film. While I figure their Gremlins line never actually stopped, it really slowed down for the last few years with only one figure or so a year. It seems like the line is ramping back up again though, as within only the past couple months ultimate figures for the generic Gremlin, Gamer Gremlin, and Stripe were all released, with NECA teasing more later this year! My army of little green monsters is steadily growing, and it wasn't until now that I realized that almost all of their past offerings have been from the second film! While I hope for that film to one day be revisited as well, the current focus on the 1984 film has got me wondering which of the dark creatures I would want next and there are a lot of them. I've narrowed them down to five entries, so here are my most wanted NECA Gremlins figures from the first film!

5. Accessory pack
This isn't technically a figure, but something that I think has a lot of potential and falls in line with NECA's trend of doing accessory sets for lines. I recall them stating the possiblity of doing one for the Gremlins line if there is enough demand, and that something they may consider adding would be the cocoon prototype they displayed several years ago but then cancelled! This would be the perfect way for that piece to finally get into the hands of collectors, among other things. More bundles of junk food and cigarettes could be included, gingerbread cookies, along with the syringe that was used on the science teacher? My biggest hope though is that the Mogwai balls are included, which I think would be a very cool addition to any Gremlins display, especially alongside the previously released ultimate Gizmo.

4. Flasher 2.0
A flasher Gremlin was released in their first wave of Gremlins 2 figures way back in the day; however, that figure's coat was made out of a hard plastic which seriously restricted the figure's movement and trapped him in one pose. While it is the iconic pose, I would still like more articulation for the figure and an updated release with a cloth jacket would work perfectly to achieve this. After having one with an open jacket for so long, I'm actually itching to display one with the jacket closed but ready to be sprung open.

3. Carolers
NECA's statement when they confirmed another Gremlin for this year said something along the lines of it being available just in time for Christmas. I may be jumping to conclusions, but I feel like they may be talking about the most Christmas themed Gremlins of them all, the carolers. I want them, I want them to make that design, and whether they're in a multi pack or one figure I will do what I have to do get that group. The only issue I see with releasing the figure single is that each caroler was wearing different clothes, and while I'd be fine with one of the group (It was the 80s anyways when groups wore the same outfit) I'd still hope to somehow get variation between the members.

2. Bar Gremlin
This is gonna encompass several different Gremlins, and it all comes down to the accessories. So far, the three figures in this Ultimates line have been legendary for their flood of accessories and how many extra bits each comes with, so I think a figure like this isn't too much of a stretch. Three more cigarettes could be included to make the smoking Gremlin, the poker hat and more cards for some poker Gremlins, a swappable head to make the ski mask Gremlin (if Stripe didn't come with a gun, I doubt they could give it to this guy), a beer for good measure, and then an assortment of accessories to make both the hand puppet Gremlin and the Bogart. I love this duo for no real reason, I just like the small scene they share and would necessitate that I buy two. Two hands puppets for the hand puppet Gremlin, and then the hat and mallet for the Bogart. Though, if as much stuff were included as I've said here, I would end up buying several just to have each individual Gremlin.

1. Dancer
I completely forgot about this Gremlin until I was re-watching the movie, wondering which Gremlins I think could make cool figures, and all of a sudden the music shifts and this Gremlin comes spinning out onto the dance floor. I am in love with this Gremlin and desperately need it represented in NECA's line. It gets several shots focusing in on it as it spins and dances across the floor, and those pink leg warmers and sweater would be amazing inclusions to the already great figures. If this ever becomes a figure, I will play, "Mega Madness," on a loop from the figure's reveal to the point that I get it in hand.
