Top 5 most wanted King Kong figures from Neca
Neca made a surprising but very welcome reveal recently of a 7 inch scale King Kong based on what seems to be an amalgamation of many different takes on King Kong! It looks fantastic, and it has got me hoping that Neca will venture into the King Kong franchise just like they've done for the Godzilla series! While not as expansive, there have still been several movies in King Kong's name with many different designs given to the giant gorilla. These are the 5 I hope to get next!

5. King Kong 1976
This movie isn't as well regarded as a lot of the other movies in King Kong's staple of films, or even well remembered from what I can tell. I remember watching it as a kid though and finding it a lot of fun, with the city scene offering a lot of differences to make it very discernible against other tales of the big ape.

4. Kong: Skull Island
I was extremely excited about this movie when it was first advertised, but to be honest I felt the same as a lot of others that the movie was a bit of a let down. Despite this, it was a fun movie with a lot of varied and interesting events throughout to keep the action going. Kong's new design is one that is easily distinguishable from others from his history, with a more human look and feel to him, as well as being the design that will go up against Godzilla soon which demands a figure for that display.

3. Black and white classic version
When the original King Kong film came out it was in black and white, and it would be a great call back to that fact by releasing the newly revealed King Kong figure in a black and white color scheme, with some modifications to make it look like this original release! It doesn't look like it would take a lot of remolding from what they already have, and the aesthetic would totally work for it, giving the figure a stand out look on the shelf.

2. King Kong vs Godzilla
Not too long ago we got the Godzilla design from this very silly classic movie, and now that Neca has shown that they can do King Kong, I hope that we get the King Kong from that movie as well to complete the set up! The suit design was a bit ridiculous looking, and the entire movie the epitome of the campy Godzilla movies we used to get, but it was great fun nonetheless and if they include balloons with King Kong I would lose my mind.

1. Peter Jackson's 2005 film
Not just my favorite King Kong film, but one of my favorite movies of all time! I absolutely love everything about this film from the monsters, the expansive nature of Skull Island, the characters, the style, and especially the overt gorilla design of Kong himself while most designs skew towards a more humanoid look. Kong truly felt like the king in this movie, with battle scars to show it, and intense, breathtaking scenes like his battle against the T-Rex creatures! I would be incredibly blown away if Neca made a figure for this design with their great skills at sculpting and paint work, so hopefully the classic Kong isn't the end of the Kong line.
