Top 5 most wanted updated Transformers Armada figures

The big time visitation by Hasbro of the Beast Wars Transformers era has been a highlight for many Transformers collectors when looking at the last few years of the toyline. The dramatic shift to something distinctly not G1 in the generations line has been embraced by fans who have been wanting to see something new for a while, not to mention Beast Wars itself being very beloved. It's got me hoping that Hasbro will soon revisit other series in the Transformers history to update with a line of new figures, granting modern advancements in design and sculpting to older characters who may have received any figures since their original release! One such show I really hope is reinvigorated with new figures is Transformers Armada, the show I grew up on, that is majorly nostalgic for a lot of fans these days! With some great designs, an intriguing new plot regarding Minicons, and a host of awesome characters, these are the top 5 Transformers Armada characters I hope soon get updated figure releases!

5. Thrust
I'm going to start off by saying this list is going to be dominated by Decepticons. Armada had an amazing cast of villains, with all of them being incredibly iconic to me and my childhood. One of my favorites was for sure the tactician Thrust, who had one of the most dramatic character shifts over the course of the series! Starting out confident, proud of himself, continuous losses and scoldings by Megatron turned him into a sniveling, traitorous fool who in the end got himself killed.

4. Megatron
Speaking of Megatron, this is no doubt one of my favorite incarnations of the character. Not only is the design fantastic, with the antlers, tread shoulders, and the first on screen depiction of the character as a tank, but the characterization was stand out. Cunning, cruel, pompous, Megatron can be described by so many words and his rivalry with Optimus is one of the best from the franchise. Feeling almost lost without Optimus to oppose him was such an astonishing plot point, and Armada Megatron deserves a truly great new figure.

3. Starscream
I mentioned how Armada's Megatron was one of my favorite versions of that character, but I cannot deny that Armada's Starscream is my favorite rendition of Starscream from Transformers lore! The shift in characterization to a loyal soldier disillusioned by his constant failures to Megatron, failing at every turn to gain his approval, was such a deep and moving arc for Starscream as the show steadily built up his confrontation with the Decepticon leader! Starscream's sacrifice also remains the best scene in the show for me, and the best animated of the series.

2. Sideways
One of my all time favorite Armada characters, and one of the most iconic characters to come out of the series, is Sideways. A mysterious robot who flipped sides throughout the show, but whose true loyalties and identity turned out to be grander than anyone could have expected! The purple motorcycle is undeniably recognizable as the quiet herald, and the original toy's gimmick of revealing a different faction symbol depending on the head he wears would be cool to see in a modern day figure.

1. Tidal Wave
I have seen no shortage of fans demanding this character be made again in today's world, with the requests heating up even further with the reveal of the Commander class! Tidal Wave would fit perfectly into that scale which has already seen Jetfire and Sky Lynx released, as he isn't quite as large as a Titan, but surely bigger than a leader. Tidal Wave would be an incredibly behemoth to have as a massive, updated figure bearing the correct gray and purple color scheme his original toy didn't have.
