Top 5 most wanted Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Black Series figures vol 2
This year is the 40th anniversary of Star Wars the Empire Strikes Back, considered by many to be the best film in the franchise and to celebrate it the 6 inch Black Series line from Hasbro is offering a full assortment of new and rereleased figures to the line that fans are welcoming warmly. We've already had the reveal of great new figures like the Probe droid, Dak with a Snowspeeder, the Hoth rebel trooper, Snowspeeder pilot Luke, along with a lot of great rereleases including a two pack of Chewie and C3PO from Bespin. The choices of characters for the line to do from the 5th legacy movie is actually narrowing down, but there are still plenty left and here are my top 5 figures I hope get made during this time of celebration!

5. Alternate versions of characters
While a lot of the main character's looks in the movie have been covered in the line, there's still a couple I'd like to add to the collection! Darth Vader from the Dagobah cave showdown would be a neat pick as long as he would come with an alternate head to feature Luke's face beneath the mask. Lando in Han's outfit was a small appearance from the end of the movie but something I think would be a lot of fun to have in the line, and another short lived outfit is Luke in his bacta tank recovery outfit which I think would be a great release to include the tank as well as a display piece! Finally, Leia in the dress she wore on Bespin would be an awesome use of soft goods in the line and the headsculpt already exists from the Bespin escape version!

4. Droids
This is a bit of a general slot, though so was the last one! Droids are a hallmark of the Star Wars universe and the second movie in the original trilogy introduced us to quite a few cool new ones. 2-1B was a very interesting looking medical droid with a clear body and a Squidward-esque head shape. Fx-7 was another medical droid seen in the movie and this is one I personally love the design of with its cylindrical body and mass amount of arms protruding from every crevasse possible. The other abundance of droids comes from the C-3PO repaints possible. E-3PO was the silver version seen on Bespin, while K-3PO and R-3PO were both from Hoth.

3. Willrow Hood
This character gets his own slot simply because I think it would be amazing for the line to include him and by the popularity of his slot in the ESB fan vote that occurred last year Hasbro must have seen the demand is there for him to be added to the line! Famed as the man who ran by the background carrying an "ice cream machine," Willrow Hood would be an ultimate fan service figure to produce and the white canister could even be used by Mandalorian displayer's too if wanted!

2. Bespin army builders
While the Hoth side of the movie has been nearly completely filled out, the Bespin tail end hasn't gotten as much love but I'm hoping that will change soon because there are a few characters from the end of the movie that would all work great as characters fans would buy multiples of! The Cloud Car pilots in their white jumpsuits would make a splash against the darker clothes of the majority of the line, and the Ugnaughts would provide much needed alien diversity that has only steadily been increased lately. Finally, the Bespin guards are undoubtedly the most needed troops from the movie now that we have the Hoth rebels, and their blue uniforms would look great alongside the Lando we've already gotten.

1. Bespin and Hoth authority characters - Lobot and General Rieekan
Taking the top slot are two characters that were seen in positions of authority in their scenes in each of their respective locations, and that was the best similarity I could come up with to lump them together and keep the list at 5 slots. General Rieekan was seen on Hoth and would be a good figure to have alongside the Hoth rebels as their commander, even if he didn't personally oversee battle; I also had his original 3.75 inch figure so my nostalgia for him makes me even more partial. Lobot is much more of a priority, being Lando's right hand guy and also suspect for a great figure with his jumpsuit design and the mechanical ring that goes around most of his head. In fact, with the anniversary of Empire Strikes Back meaning more figures later this year which has been confirmed, I'd say that Lobot is the one missing most from the remaining possibilities!
