The Flash S06 EP05 spoiler review
I admit I'm getting to this episode review very late, but with the Flash on break this week I figure it works for a good time to release this review on the day we would have gotten another episode. Barry Allen took a break from being the hero this week to give Cisco the chance to shine in his own self driven episode that brought along a lot of twists as well as heartbreaks. So jumping right into things, as Flash barrels closer to Crisis, here is my review of Flash season 6 episode 5.

To start off the episode we got Barry and Iris leaving for a few days to themselves, to relax during what time Barry has left before his proposed death on December 10th. They left Cisco in charge, albeit he left himself with a computer program that would mimic Barry's thought process and make choices that Barry himself would make. I thought that this episode ended up being very good, and a really strong episode for Cisco in particular, thought we also got great bits with other characters like Nash and Joe as well.
The main portion of the episode followed Cisco trying to solve the murder of Gypsy! Breacher showed up one night telling him that his daughter had been murdered, and what followed was Cisco trying to track down the murderer, while also deciphering his own feelings for Kamilla. I really like this storyline, while I'm sad that we won't be getting any more Gypsy on the show I thought it was a good consequence to have a main character killed off and the ensuing mystery was really great. The show set it up obviously to make it look as thought the detective form Earth 19 was actually the murderer, Echo, though using vibing abilities by tapping into the "Vibe" in the same vein as the Speed Force, Cisco and Breacher looked back to the night Gypsy was murdered and saw that the killer was Cisco himself. This lined up with Cisco experiencing black outs, and for a bit I actually believed that somehow Cisco might have done it. The end of the episode saw the revelation that it was an evil, alternate version of Cisco from another world, who was then trying to frame our Cisco to make his escape. It was a really neat trip and a fun reintroduction to doppelgangers barring Nash Wells. Of course Cisco captured the villainous Echo, and throughout this story he found the ability to tell Kamilla that he loved her, while mourning Gypsy.
Elsewhere in the episode we got Nash Wells and Joe West becoming trapped in the sewers together which was a really great pair to see together; Joe and Harrison Wells always go great together. Nash became completely shocked by the fact that Joe knew about the Monitor, leading the end of the episode to see Nash wells to agree to show the team what he was searching for, and how to save Barry Allen! It definitely seems like the show is shaping up to turn Nash into Pariah, and I'm all for it!
The last bit of the episode saw Killer Frost confronting Ramsay who has gone further into monster mode, now with black veins across his body. He's full on embraced the twisted cure he has made for himself, using it as a way to maintain immortality for himself. It was a nice, brief scene with the villain, establishing that he is still very much present.
