Top 5 wanted Dark Souls 3 bosses for Dark Souls the Board Game

Finishing out my wish lists for what boss expansions I want to get in Steamforged Games Dark Souls the Board game I'm now taking a look at Dark Souls 3 which I'm my opinion has some of best and most iconic bosses from the whole franchise! Sadly, the Board Game hasn't quite taken advantage of this roster though as only two bosses from the game so far hail from the third and final game in the series; however, I hope that will change specifically with these 5 bosses!

5. Champion Gundyr
I really love the villains who design wise might not have a lot going on, but are absolutely insane to fight and still end up becoming memorable villains just for the difficulty you face trying to take them down! This is one of the areas that Champion Gundyr falls into, while also having a very complex backstory that sees you fighting the present version of him at the start of the game, and the younger, more proficient version of himself later on. I wouldn't mind getting both versions of him in the game; however, the more imposing version is the one I'd like to fight.

4. Deacons of the Deep
Many people consider the Deacons of the Deep the last bad seed of Dark Souls 2's mob bosses rearing its head once again in these foes, but I actually quite liked the overwhelming nature of mob bosses and am really interested in seeing it implemented into the board game! Having just a huge horde of enemies to mow down and survive as they converge onto you sounds honestly kind of scary, and the alternating designs for the Deacons would give more variance to this mob boss and the minis too.

3. The Nameless King
Getting into the big three of this list, three of the villains that I know many fans of the games really love, I'll be starting off with the Nameless King! He had been set up since the first game in the franchise as the possible lost sibling to Gwyndolin and Gwynevere, and appears in the third game as a boss fight you can completely miss in an entire area that is also easy to completely miss! Despite this, it is one of the most harrowing fights in the game that sees you first facing off against the King and his dragon before his dragon is killed and he stands alone.

2. Slave Knight Gael
While nothing but a frail, unintimidating old man when he oversees your trip to the painted world, Slave Knight Gael becomes a completely unrelenting beast when you face him during his boss fight. A quiet, wide open expanse lays the ground for your fight and the sight of him racing across the hill towards you is quite unsettling. What follows is a vicious attack with so many variances that defending is close to impossible and you have to be really skilled to top this foe.

1. Father Ariandel and Sister Friede
Group fights are a lot of fun in the Dark Souls games and while a lot of bosses have tried, I think Father Ariandel and Sister Friede really do measure up to the likes of Ornstein and Smough from the first game. The atmosphere of the fight, the multiple phases, and the designs of the two bosses are really outstanding and make for a difficult but rewarding fight. Ariandel in particular was a haunting foe with his howl and bashing attacks with his bowl, not to mention Friede's absolutely relentless final mode! This is one boss I would truly love to get in figure form to fight in the board game!
