Top 5 most wanted updated Transformers Pretender figures

Another branch of the Transformers world that Hasbro has been delving into is the Pretenders! Iguanas and the recently revealed Skullgrin are both two examples of these robots being implemented into the recent modern era of figures and they look great. Rather than taking on forms of machinery as their disguise, the Pretenders take on the normally organic form of the native life itself! While that concept with the newer figures seems to be left behind as they are taking the Pretender shells and giving them alt modes, it still provides translation of a lot of those awesome designs and I'm here for it! These will be my top 5 most wanted Pretender figures from Hasbro!

5. Metalhawk

Starting off with an Autobot Pretender, I'd be really interested to see in what manner they would pull this off since so many of the Autobot Pretenders opted for humanoid appearances rather than the wicked monster forms the Decepticons adopted. Metalhawk himself has the notoriety of being the leader of the Autobot Pretenders, making him a great candidate to dive to balance out the Decepticons we've been getting.

4. Bomb-Burst

Regardless of what they end up with for the alt-mode, the robot modes for these figures is what I'm most excited about and Bomb-Burst is one of those examples of an absolutely killer looking Pretender shell! The vampiric bat design with the enlarged ears would look monstrous and fit right in alongside Skullgrin and the others!

3. Submaurader

Just like the 2nd slot on this list, Submaurader got a role alongside several other Pretenders as the destructive group "Mayhem" in IDW's Wreckers "Tread and Circuits" miniseries. And just like most of the other Decepticons from this group he invokes a very cool looking Pretender shell with a sea creature motif.

2. Octopunch

Not only does this bot have the advantage of one of the coolest Pretender shells from the whole gimmick, having literal tentacles forming from him along with his classic diver's helmet, but he has had recent exposure in media as well leading the "Mayhem" team in IDW's Wreckers miniseries from the 2019 saga. With so much else being lifted from that comic for the Velocitron and Wreckers sublines at Hasbro, hopefully the villains of that series can make it to plastic form too!

1. Bludgeon

Out of all the Pretenders across the franchise, Bludgeon is no doubt one of the most popular and well recognized! His demonic samurai form is one that instantly resonates with a lot of fans and he has had several new figures throughout the years, as well as appearances in multiple medias like Cyberverse, the Armada comic, and a live action based figure released in the Revenge of the Fallen toyline! I could easily see Bludgeon getting another deserved release in Legacy!
