Top 5 most wanted Mcfarlane DC Multiverse Blackest Night figures vol 2
Mcfarlane hit us with one of the best waves of figures he has done so far when he released the Blackest Night wave of figures! Not only did we get a great Kyle and Atrocitus, but the bread and butter of the wave was no doubt the Black Lanterns that are scaring up the display shelf now! Deathstorm, Superman, and Batman look unequally epic as Black Lantern zombie figures from Mcfarlane; not to mention the perfectly timed release of the accompanying mega figure Nekron who I can't wait to add to the display! I immediately need more Blackest Night from Mcfarlane with this first wave proving how well he can handle the decayed, zombified source material! These would be my top choices for who we would get next!
I'll take more Lantern characters any day of the week regardless of what color they hail from, and there's still so many great characters that need to be brought out by Mcfarlane like Sinestro and Star Sapphire now that we have Hal Jordan and Atrocitus. The deputy lanterns from Blackest Night would make an amazing set on their own as well, with Blue lantern Flash and Yellow lantern Scarecrow being a couple of my top picks from this group.
Just as we have Nekron to lead the Black Lantern corps on the shelf, Black Hand would fit in perfectly as the other appointed head of the corps! The physical embodiment of death and one who helped lead the entirety of the Blackest Night event, Black Hand is a figure integral to the Blackest Night storyline and one I don't think should be left out of a potential wave 2!
Seeing this guy face off against Barry and Hal early on in the storyline was a delightful fight to watch unfold, especially with Martian Manhunter pointing out that he has all the powers of Superman which everyone always seem to forget. It is one of the encounters during the storyline that has stuck with me the most and with Hal and Barry already in the line it would make it an easy display to add this guy to!
Two more terrifying designs to add to the line, Hawkman and Hawkgirl were part of one of the most upsetting scenes of the storyline early on as Elongated Man and Sue Dearbon slaughter the two of them and add them to the ranks of the undead. Their wings would be the biggest selling point to me when it comes to their Black Lantern potential figures, as they would big massive, bony appendages devoid of the usual feathers!
Still reigning in the top spot, Elongated Man was pure nightmare fuel in the Blackest Night event and I've already mentioned the horrifying scene in which he helps murder the Hawks. Stretching all around like a spiraling demon, Elongated Man could easily fit into the build a figure release slot to encompass how winding he made himself. The headsculpt would have to be perfect as well and capture the flared nostrils for the character "smelling a mystery," as he declares.
