Top 5 most wanted Marvel Legends MCU villains
While Marvel's films have certainly boasted plenty of lackluster villains that fans will poke fun at, the franchise has also yielded us some of the best comic book movie villains across the genre! From the likes of Loki to Thanos to Zemo there are plenty of villains to be excited about, and that extends to the Marvel Legends side of things as many times I find the villains often make for the cooler action figures! We've been getting a lot of missed villains in the line in these past years like Iron Monger and Surtur to name two, but there are still a great deal of MCU antagonists that need to make the jump to action figure form! These are five of the baddies I want most!
The perfect army builder for the MCU line to delve into, these alien warriors have become iconic in the realm of the movie franchise as the army the Avengers fought in the first movie the team featured in! They have been seen a couple times again throughout the franchise, namely in the time travel sequence during Endgame, but that very first Avengers movie is what really put these guys on the map for collecting fans.
We've gotten Iron Monger, now the line should move onto the second film in Iron Man's franchise to play catch up with another awesomely designed supervillain that so far has been ignored by the line! Whiplash had two very cool costume designs, with his look during the racetrack showdown probably one of the best designs for a Marvel villain throughout phase 1! His armored look later in the movie was also really cool, but if I had a choice I'd want that first stand out look!
I understand that Marvel were trying to keep a lot of things secret when it came to No Way Home, but with all the villains being clearly present in the marketing movie they could have at least given us figures for some of them as the villains of No Way Home were hands down my favorite part of the movie aside from the Spidey trio! I had no personal problem with Electro's Sony design, but his redesign in the MCU beats it out for me and hopefully we'll get some kind of big villain pack to represent this movie one day.
I couldn't be more excited for Abomination to be in the MCU again after not seeing him for over a decade after Incredible Hulk! He is one of my favorite MCU villains in terms of character and design, and while I'm a bit sad that they've altered his design from his original appearance it's one I'm still liking and hoping to see a figure of now that he's more of a character again, and the MCU is more of a priority in the Marvel Legends line.
Emil Blonsky would have been top spot if it hadn't been for No Way Home giving us one of the greatest villains in the entirety of the MCU, and the comic book genre overall! Bringing back Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin was one of the best choices the MCU has ever made and his vile, frightening Green Goblin proved himself as one of the cruelest and dangerous villains as he wrought destruction throughout Holland's third film. Adding the purple hoodie to his costume and exposing his face really rounds it out in a perfect way for me, and I've never wanted a Green Goblin figure more than I do now!
