NECA's line of Gremlins figures has really taken off again after years of slow releases, and while the newer stuff is focused entirely on the 1st movie in the franchise, the original line offerings were based around the second film; The New Batch. There were several prototypes that never made it into production but have new potential life as NECA has said they're interested in revisiting them due to the revived success of the line. That doesn't just mean old, cancelled figures might get made, but that the second movie is once again being eyed for figures, and I've got a few in mind for them to make; 5 in fact!

Honorable mention: elephant gremlin
Before we really start, I'd like to talk about the elephant in the room. I found out about this unused Gremlins concept only a few months ago and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. This thing looks completely wild and I wish it had made it into the movie, but as it stands, it is a behind the scenes concept that I'm not sure NECA even has on their radar.

5. Gremlin skeleton
This would just be a fun one to have, and definitely unique compared to all other releases as it would be the skeleton that appeared in the final scene of the movie where all the Gremlins are being melted. One of the original cancelled prototypes is the melting witch Gremlin, so the melting skeleton Gremlin isn't out of the realm of possibility.

4. Ultimate brown Gremlin

We've been getting a ton of green Gremlins from the first movie with different accessories, I think we should get that for the brown Gremlins of the second film. It would add a lot of variety to the Gremlins themselves, and also add more army builders that the line thrives on. Another plus is that they could be repainted into the green 2nd movie design Gremlins.

3. The Brain
This is the major villain of the second film and I think severely needs an updated figure from the original one that he got waaaaay back when. His design is very unique when taken into account the jacket and the glasses, and the cloth would make for an excellent Gremlins figure as well as a must buy similar to the Stripe action figure.

2. Greta
This one is the big one, the prototype we saw and loved and that ultimately got away as the line slowed down and cancelled everything we saw that day. The figure looked beautiful, absolutely stunning with soft hair, clothes, and a completely unique look for the monsters in the line. Hopefully she is the one who makes it out first from the revival of the prototypes.

1. Veggie
I really like this one. The design for this monster I always found very appealing and fun to look at as he was a Gremlin that was comprised entirely of vegetables, and I was surprised that over the years he wasn't one of the Gremlins 2 figures that was released or that even got a prototype. Hopefully now, like the rest of the figures of this list, we can get him in the Gremlins line in all of his to-be plastic glory.
