Ranking my excitement for possible future Pokemon live action movies
Detective Pikachu came out in theaters earlier this year and is now out of DVD to watch whenever fans want. It became the highest grossing video game movie of all time, and already a slew of new projects are being worked on for the live action Pokemon universe. This universe is expansive and can encompass much more than we've seen in the one movie, so with four projects supposedly in different forms of development, here is my ranking of my excitement for the possible live action Pokemon movies!

4. Detective Pikachu 2
This is one that is being worked on right now, but I'm not quite sure how they're do it. That's the only reason it is so low on the list, as Pikachu no longer speaks and the story line the movie provided has been wrapped up. The videogame ended on a cliffhanger note with Pikachu still a detective, leaving the sequel for the game obvious in story, but the movie seems to have finished up all of its loose ends. The biggest question would be how Pikachu would be a detective again, because that is surely the main draw of this sub series.

3. Live action Ash Ketchum
This is an interesting one, but I honestly don't really want to watch a 10 year old kid in this world running around catching Pokemon. I like the age they went with for the main character in Detective PIkachu and if Ash is introduced as the protagonist, I would hope he would be closer to that age or teenage years. I would wonder too if having another movie about a kid teaming up with a Pikachu would seem too much like retreading covered ground, but we'll see.

2. Mewtwo spinoff
One of the highlights of the Detective Pikachu movie was the inclusion of legendary Pokemon Mewtwo. He was a driving force behind the movie's plot and looked great in design, meaning that I was very excited for this project to be announced. It could easily follow this Pokemon's backstory and resulting revenge of the scientists, furthermore, Pokemon come to this movies and games for the Pokemon, and having a Pokemon as the main character would be great.

1. Live action Red/Blue adaptations
This is something I would love to see in the movies. The classic Pokemon experience where the players travel to different gyms and eventual go up against the Elite 4 for the title of Pokemon champion. Red and Blue are also such iconic characters to the series that their inclusion would have to be done perfectly, and they would surely have a cool prowess entirely unlike Ash and Detective Pikachu's protagonists. The only stipulation is that having eight gyms and then 4 Elite four members, and then a champion after all that may get tedious. So perhaps a montage of some sort, or a time jump? However they do it, the original Pokemon story line is one I'd love to see in a live action movie.
