Top 5 favorite Pokemon Mega Construx sets of 2019
Pokemon's Mega Construx sets have been steadily releasing for the past couple of years and this year saw a big focus on the Detective Pikachu movie that came out earlier in the year. We got quite a few fun sets from that movie, but also some great sets not based around that movie, and with the year coming to a close hear are my top 5 favorite Pokemon Mega Construx sets of 2019!

Getting them all done in one fell swoop with a massive box set was a fun idea for Mega to go through with and I think they've succeeded in making a highly sought after set that includes a ton of popular, good looking Pokemon builds. My only complaint would be the lack of any real terrain pieces, but with the amount of Pokemon we get I can't really complain.

4. Lickitung
I was thrilled to see that we were getting a set based on this wild Pokemon. I was very interesting in how the tongue would be handled and having it as a softer, pliable material was definitely the way to go and allows for a magnificent array of poseability that buildable pieces wouldn't have covered.

3. Hi Hat Cafe
Ludicolo is definitely one of my favorite Pokemon and while it didn't get to do much in the film we still got a set based on the cafe that it ran which thankfully included this Pokemon as well! While a lot of the build is contained under a plastic body, it still looks great and the pineapple design of this Pokemon looks as good as ever! The cafe is also a fun build and serves as a good display piece for some Pokemon!

2. Sinnoh starters
The starter Pokemon sets have been a constant thing to look forward to in the line as the line works its way through the different generations! Sinnoh was the first one we got this year and I think that the sets look really great, and the terrains that they come with are really creative and not just some grass and a tree like past sets have been! I love the tree swing and water side theme that Turtwig and Piplup get, and the city themed bench, shrub, and lamp post that come with Pikachu and Chimchar definitely stands out against all of the nature themed sets we got before!

1. Hoenn starters
Speaking of starter Pokemon, I think that I have mentioned before how Hoenn is my favorite of the Pokemon regions, so finally getting the Hoenn starter Pokemon in the line was a delight for me and a great way to close out the line for 2019! I also love that we got another Hoenn Pokemon with the three instead of just another Pikachu. Both sets go back to strictly nature themed bases, but I like the little waterfall, and that Torchic and Treeko's tree is meant to be struck in order to knock out whoever is sitting in it. I like little play gimmicks like that to give the build more life.
