Top 5 Favorite Jazwares Micro Galaxy Squadron ships of 2024

Image
Jazwares' Micro Galaxy Squadron line of Star Wars ships continued in 2024 with lots of great ships and designs from the Star Wars universe being checked off from all across the saga, and with 2025 well under way this will be my ranking of my top 5 favorite Micro Galaxy Squadron releases of last year.  (Images Source) 5. B-Wing An early release of the year was the B-Wing which was a lot of fun to mess around with. With wings that could be articulated and a completely rotatable cockpit this ship has plenty of features to play with making it a good hands-on ship in the line.  4. U-Wing Rogue One is one of my favorite Star Wars films in the series and the release of the U-Wing was a wonderful first entry into that film for the spinoff film. It comes with plenty of play features making it a playset all its own with multiple inner rooms, sliding panels for entry, and posable wings that captures the ship's flight and landing modes.  3. Gungan Sub While it does not possess as man...

Top 5 Favorite Mattel Jurassic Park/World figures of 2024

Image
Mattel's Jurassic World line still has not given as a Hammond Collection Spinosaurus but we did get several fantastic releases throughout 2024 that shows the constant improvement of the line with lots of great species both new to the toyline and updated to nigh-perfect degree. My fingers are crossed that 2025 will finally deliver the Hammond Collection Spinosaurus I've been waiting for, but while I wait let's look back at my top 5 favorite Mattel Dinosaur figures from the Jurassic World lines.  5. Bajadasaurus (Image Source) The only figure from the mainline that will be making it onto this list is the Bajadasaurus, a wild species with bony prominences aligning the back and neck of this sauropod. While there are areas lacking in paint, the sculpt of this creature is a highly unique one that makes it stand out across the line when compared to others of its species type. 4. Pyroraptor (Image Source) The rest of this list will be highly Hammond Collection dominated, and the li...

Top 5 Favorite Hasbro Transformers figures of 2024

Image
Transformers continues to be one of the flagship brands of Hasbro's toylines, and 2024 was no different with several unbelievable releases across their many different lines. From the conclusion to Legacy, the continuation of Studio Series, and a long awaited Masterpiece offerings, these are my top 5 favorite Hasbro Transformers figures of the year 2024! (Images Source) 5. Commander Class Optimus Prime There likely is not a single favorites list of 2024 talking about Transformers that does not include this figure. The Commander Class Optimus Prime was highly anticipated and completely delivered on the premise of giving us the perfect Optimus Prime figure. It is a beautiful piece that matches the animation and includes all of his signature accessories, allowing fans their chance at an Optimus Prime that will be impossible to top in the mainline again.  4. Magmatron One of the biggest surprises of last year was the Legacy Commander Class spot being taken by a more obscure character ha...

Top 5 Favorite Star Wars: The Black Series figures of 2024

Image
This was a big year for the prequel trilogy in Hasbro's Star Wars The Black Series and you'll definitely see that reflected in my ranking of my top 5 favorite Black Series figures of 2024. With 2025 already promising several great releases I'm circling back to 2024 one more time for my favorite releases of the year! (Images Source) 5. Destroyer Droid A long time coming was the Destroyer Droid who came out as a magnificent deluxe release. The sculpting work captured all the mechanical detailing and the coloring on this droid invokes the movie design perfectly. The articulation scheme complements the design well, and it can even transform into a ball like seen in the films! 4. Yord, Sol, Jecki I seem to be amongst the minority who really enjoyed The Acolyte. It was a blast of pure Jedi/Sith action that introduced several new characters into the Star Wars universe who I've been more than excited to add to the collection. Yord, Sol, and Jecki were all released right off the...

Ranking the 2024 Mcfarlane DC Multiverse Build-A figures

Image
Before I start off 2025 with recounting my favorite action figures of each line in 2024 I am going to put together a ranking of the four Build-A figures that we received from Mcfarlane's DC Multiverse line in 2024. It was a very diverse serving of waves we received with origins spanning classic comics, classic films, and even a forgotten video game! So starting with spot number 4, here is my ranking of Mcfarlane's 2024 DC Multiverse Build-A figures! (Images Source) 4. Nightmare Bat This was an unexpected choice for the line, and a great deep cut into Batman Forever for a wave that had no other clear Build-A figure choices. The sculpting on this is great and very creepy, with many collectors using it as an unofficial "Man-Bat." He falls to the bottom of the list simply because it isn't a character or design I had any particular connection to as I wasn't even aware of the deleted scene until this figure was unveiled.  3. Darkseid The super classic Darkseid Mega-...

5 wanted obscure characters for Tamashii Nations Naruto S.H.Figuarts line

Image
With high hopes for the Naruto S.H.Figuarts line going into 2025 and clear dedication to the line being demonstrated by Tamashii Nations releasing a whole play set, I've decided to take a look at a few obscure choices from the series that I would love to see recreated in action figure form. I know there's a high likelihood that these are characters we may never see in the line, especially where we're at currently where primary characters are still being focused upon. From the first show in particular there were a lot of characters are only appeared for short periods of time and had limited screen time, but as a kid a lot of these characters were ones that really stood out to me and I thought were very cool, and would absolutely love to see join the S.H.Figuarts line one day if the line goes deep enough. (Images Source) 5. Dosu, Zaku, Kin  I have these three at the bottom of this list simply because they are the closest to not being more obscure characters from the series. D...

Top 5 wanted McFarlane DC Multiverse comic Superman characters vol 3

Image
(Banner Image Source)   (Following Images Source) The Superman family has enjoyed quite a bit of focus from Mcfarlane in his DC Multiverse line of figures. So many members of this side of the DC universe as well as variant costumes for them have been checked off, with Power Girl set to receive her first figure in the line soon, and then Val Zod and Conner Kent both having come out in the prior year. I expect lots more Superman in the line soon, especially with the new movie on the horizon, and this is my third set of top five Superman comic characters I hope to see in the line next.  5. New 52 Kon El We've had a few versions of Superboy in the line so far, Conner in particular, but the New 52 one is one that hasn't been made yet. The New 52 has lately been enjoying a lot more representation in the line, especially on the Batman side of things, but also with other releases such as the recent Mr. Terrific and Grid. Superboy's story and design during the New 52 wasn't the ...

Top 5 wanted Mattel Jurassic World Ankylosauria

Image
The next Dinosaur species type that I'll be looking at in anticipation of the upcoming Jurassic World movie are the Ankylosauria, one of my all time favorite species type with the titular Ankylosaur being one of my top two favorite dinosaurs of all time. This species has not seen quite as many releases by Mattel in their Jurassic World line of figures but it is one that I always love to see when made, and these are five more species I hope to eventually see made.  5. Nodosaurus (Image Source) The member of the Ankylosauria family has no club on the end of its tail, no spikes running along its body, it just had a thick body and tail lined with beaded plates of armor. This type of dinosaur species has always been one of my favorites of the Dinosaur species, and I'd love more to go with the Hammond Collection Ankylosaur and some of the smaller species we've gotten. 4. Crichtonsaurus (Image Source) The spikes along this dinosaur's body are very unique and seem to only plate...

Top 5 wanted Mattel Jurassic World Ceratopsians

Image
Mattel's Dinosaur line of figures had a great slew of offerings last year from both Hammond Collection and the mainline, especially with the release of Chaos Theory season 2. This year sees the release of the next big Jurassic World movie and I'm sure we will see a massive roll out of new products and new species with the Dinosaur brand headlining the entertainment industry again. Ceratopsians are a species type I haven't talked about quite yet on the blog, so here I'll count the five from these species I would like to see Mattel produce next! 5. Agujaceratops (Image Source) The crest of this dinosaur splits off at the head, turning into two rounded portions that each have their own horns marking the tips of either side. I expect there will always be some ceratopsians coming in the line each year, and this one would certainly appeal to any children who are wanting something that looks similar to a Triceratops, but big time dino fans will recognize as a new unique specie...
