Top 5 wanted DC Multiverse figures based on classic comic designs
While Mcfarlane's DC Multiverse line began very heavily focusing on the current, modern day storylines and character designs we have seen in the past year and two a more consistent look back at classic designs from the DC universe spanning more of those classic looks of characters long time fans remember. Silver Age Joker, Batman, Earth-2 Robin, Orion, and so many more have been put out in their classic looks and so I wanted to take a general look back and count down my top 5 most wanted classic comic designs from Mcfarlanetoys.
5. Pariah
Crisis on Infinite Earths has enjoyed more than a few releases lately in the DC Multiverse line with plenty of characters being put out across an actual wave based on the storyline and the menaciung Anti-Monitor being released as well. One core character to the storyline that hasn't been put out yet would be Pariah, the poor soul doomed to watch the horrifying events play out, and regardless of the quality of Dark Crisis it still saw Pariah brought back to the forefront of the DC universe so having a figure of him released would be timely.
4. Extant
Hailing from early day crossover events in the DC world was Extant, a villain who still occasionally makes appearances and gets sly nods but was at the time of his creation a big threat that necessitated a larger scale storyline to deal with him. While he is not as well remembered as other big event villians like Superboy Prime, Extant still made his mark in the DC world and would be a great classic villain to see released.3. Monarch
Coming right alongside Extant would be Monarch, one of the true original big time crossover villains of DC comics and that alone should warrant him a space in the DC Multiverse line. He was one of the oldest stories of DC heroes gone bad as Hawk descended into villainy, donning this awesome looking suit of blue, silver, and yellow armor that I can already picture looking standout in 7 inch scale.2. Dr. Fate
Shifting away from event focused characters, this one is a big time JSA character that I'm shocked we haven't seen more of in the line. Dr. Fate is extremely popular and I think that it is long overdue for a proper comic book Fate so people don't have to keep using the videogame and movie iterations as stand ins (both great figures still). The original Dr. Fate uniform is a fan favorite and would be a great classic costume to debut in the line, easily achievable by using the Knightfall Batman/Clock King mold which has the correctly sculpted boots.1. Nightwing
There's no escaping the Batman mythos when it comes to DC Multiverse and as many Nightwing figures as we have received in the line so far I am honestly astounded that Dick's classic Nightwing uniform hasn't been amongst the many we've received! I really love the blues and yellows of this look along with the high collar and plunging neckline, something we now have a sculpt for thanks to the Max Mercury release! Nightwing has gotten lots of great figures in the line, but I think this one could easily be the best of the best.
