The Flash S06 EP12 spoiler review
After the pretty disappointing episode last week involving Amunet Black and Goldface, this week gave us an episode that I really enjoyed and I hope that the rest of the season is like this!

There were a lot of storylines going on this week and I think that they were all juggled pretty well, with nothing feeling too ignored or out of place. The smallest storyline by far in fact involved Barry himself, and I think he was only in like 3 or 4 scenes in the whole episode! Joe wanted him to look into an old case, thereby finding that this old case with a deemed "accident" was actually seemingly the work of Black Hole who were killing off people. The next storyline involved fake Iris as she worked to get the Mirror gun we saw previously in season 5, eventually obtaining it by the end when Barry decided to trust her with it and remove it from the Starchives. No doubt she has something nefarious in mind, and during he excursion to get it we saw Nash in the archives himself apparently taking the diary of Harry Wells. Harry again appeared this episode as definitely a hallucination of Nash's mind, and I'm thinking it means 100% Harry must be dead because it would be weird for Harry to be alive and possibly come back while another character is supposedly having guilty hallucinations about his death. The secondary storyline of the episode involved the real Iris as we got to see some of the mirror dimension through her this week; a whole earth exactly like our own but devoid completely of life! That is, except for Eva McCulloch who turns out to be alive and well, trapped in the mirror dimension ever since the particle accelerator exploded and trapped her inside. The the name and the mirror based powers teased by the end of the episode, not doubt she will become some version of Mirror Master but at the moment I think it is a great introduction for a tragic character who very quickly lost everything and everyone, including possibly her sanity. She and Iris work together to try and find a way out, with Iris remembering that when Sam Scudder trapped Barry in a mirror they froze it in order to get him out. They try the same trick only to shatter the mirror, and in Eva's frustration she finds she can control the pieces of the mirror and pieces it back together! Cisco was gone like he said he planned to be, Caitlin and Allegra sat this episode out, along with Kamilla who I hope we don't see as long as Cisco is gone. The main brunt of the episode centered around a huge story for Ralph who was finally back, and front and center no less!
Ralph finally found Sue Dearbon, and this story took a huge turn by the end that I wasn't expecting at all. It turned out that she was back in Central city and Ralph found her just as her apartment exploded, revealing that a local crime boss wanted her dead and so Ralph decided to help her out with taking him down before he could take her down. Sue turns out not to be the socialite that Ralph suspected, but a quick witted, driven soul that really took charge a few times in the episode. I loved her banter with Ralph as they tried to intercept the crime boss, or when they were simply talking to one another about their pasts. It all just felt so smooth, and I can really feel the chemistry of the two actors and can't wait for the Ralph and Sue duo from the comics to finally happen on the show! In the process of searching for the incriminating ledger of the crime boss, Ralph ends up revealing his identity as the Elongated man in order to save them from being killed, furthering the closeness between the two characters and their trust in one another. That trust is completely shattered though by the end when they open the crime boss' bank box and instead of a ledger they find a diamond, and Sue traps Ralph behind the electrified bars of the bank's vault! It turns out that she wasn't on the run from the crime boss, she was after his diamond and had kept tabs on Ralph while he was searching for her, deciding that he had the skills needed to help her steal the diamond. She warns him that if he exposes her crimes, she will expose his identity, putting him in a bind. She makes to leave, only to find herself cornered by the crime boss who was alerted when his diamond was stolen. We get a few awesome scenes of Ralph using his powers, reminding me even more how underused he is on the show since season 4 and I hope that with Sue's introduction he gets a lot more screen time! In order to escape the vault, he goes up through the sprinkler system and then enlarges his hand to act as a shield for himself and Sue from the barrage of bullets unleashed on them. Suddenly, the shooting stops and they find that Blackhole agent Ultraviolet has taken out the crew and sets her sights on Ralph and Sue. Ralph becomes incapacitated, taking a burning blast to save one of the employees of the bank, and Sue shows that she is even more than just a simple thief as her fighting prowess puts her on nearly equal terms with Ultraviolet. Sue throws the diamond's case at Ralph, but it turns out to be empty as she makes off with the diamond herself. Flash arrives to aid Ralph in not being killed, and Ralph ruminates over being deceived. We later see Sue examining the diamond herself and finding the mark of Blackhole on it, showing that she is possibly going after the organization herself.
Overall I really enjoyed this episode and am becoming more and more interested in the Blackhole conspiracy! Everything seems to be leading back to them at the moment, and things will surely only blow up once Eva finds her way out of the mirror dimension and take on whatever destiny she is supposed to inherit. Sue was a complete surprise in execution and I loved it, she had gusto and charisma that newer characters like Kamilla and Allegra lack, and is just a breath of fresh air in terms of side characters especially when Nash is just taking on the usual Harrison Wells story arc of becoming friends with the team after being a jerk at first. Her being a criminal is an immensely interesting arc for her relationship with Ralph and I'm interested in seeing how that evolves over time, and how she will factor into the Blackhole plot line! Next week's episode's trailer revealed that Grodd is returning to the show once again and I cannot wait! His episodes are always a delight, and I'm looking forward to seeing if he will have any connection to Blackhole since he was involved in the story in the comics!
