I recently posted lists about the characters I wanted most in Hasbro's 6 inch line of Star Wars action figures based on both the Clone Wars as a whole, and specifically season 7. I am now returning to the Clone Wars to look back on season 1 of the show when it was just starting out and finding its footing in the style and story telling that it would come to be very proficient in! A lot of the characters who would go on to star throughout every season were introduced here, making this first season one that is hard to narrow down to just 5 characters, but after looking through the episodes these are the 5 characters I hope to see in the Black Series from the Clone Wars' freshmen season.

5. Ahsoka Tano
Don't get me wrong I would absolutely love a Clone Wars style Ahsoka in the Black Series, but she is at the bottom of this list because her original outfit is the one I probably want the least out of all her looks throughout the series. I would like it though as a younger, more mature version of herself that contrasts greatly with the more grown up, self assured character we close the series with. Plus she is a Jedi and an alien, and I've talked enough about how much the line needs more of both of those.

4. Obi Wan
The Jedi themselves got an entirely new look with the Clone Wars as they were now wearing bits of armor atop their usual Jedi garb. This kept their robes from flowing too much during battle I assume, while also acting as defensive pieces should they be struck in those areas. The line has placed a lot of love towards Obi Wan, covering nearly every facet of his looks from the movie series, and even giving us a version based on the Clone Wars Tartakovsky design! Next should obviously be his The Clone Wars design which would pair nicely with the next slot on my list.

3. Anakin
Anakin is a character who actually hasn't received all that many figures in the line. Barring Vader figures, we've only been given his Revenge of the Sith design and now his Attack of the Clones design. For such a major player in the series, I hope we get more figures for him in the future and one that would surely be a hit would be the Clone Wars version of the character. Just like I mentioned, he is wearing new pieces of armor different from what we see him wear in the movies, and for many this is their definitive version of Anakin.

2. Cad Bane
I've talked about Cad Bane a couple times already and I will talk about him again because he is one of the coolest bounty hunters to come from the Star Wars universe, and one of the best original characters to come out of the Clone Wars content we got over the years. His design oozes with space cowboy coolness right down to the cowboy hat, not to mention his alien design without forgetting he was involved in some of the best episodes of the series! As a recurring villain beloved by fans, there is no doubt he would be a hit as a figure.

1. Asajj Ventress
Speaking of recurring villains who are awesome original characters to the show and beloved by fans; Asajj Ventress actually made her debut in the Tartakovsky cartoon before transitioning to an ongoing threat throughout the animated Clone Wars television show. Her journey is one of the more interesting parts of the show as she went from being, in my opinion, a kind of one dimensional thug Sith working under Dooku, to a deeply complex character trying to find her place in the galaxy. While I did enjoy the later versions of the character more, her original design is the one I still think of and that would likely be adapted for a figure first. With pretty much all of the Sith from the live action films being finished out, Asajj Ventress would be a good way to still inject new Sith into the line.
